The East Bay Living Foods Community was started in
Berkeley a few years ago by the graduates of Victoria and Igor Boutenkos' first East Bay
Raw/Living Foods course. The Boutenkos drove from Ashland, Oregon each week for nine weeks
to teach on Saturday mornings at Live Oak Park. We then began our monthly potlucks, first
at the home of Karen Perry in Berkeley, then at the home of Helene Miller in Oakland, and
we now we rent a garden cottage in Alameda. Craig Schielmann, Dennis and Jane Macrina, and
Barbara Turunen, D.C., along with Karen Perry and Helene Miller, are among those who
contributed much time and energy in getting and keeping the group going.
We rely on volunteer efforts from the group to set
up, clean up, organize speakers, send out announcements, collect money, pay rent, buy
supplies, etc. We greatly appreciate the contributions from all of our volunteers. We
could not keep meeting without the generous support of our members. If you are interested
in helping out, please let us know. Click Contact.
